Viable Device Found During Security Alert In South Belfast
A viable device has been found during a security alert in south Belfast.
Residents had to be evacuated from their homes after a suspicious object was found in the Lavinia Square area on Thursday night, 16 November.
Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene and the area was sealed off.
The device has been taken away for further examination.
Residents have returned to their homes and the area has been re-opened.

'Viable Device' Found In Newtownabbey
A 'viable device' has been found in Newtownabbey in the midst of a security alert. The device was discovered in the Cherrylands/Cloughfern area shortly after 06:00 this morning. The area was cordoned off as army bomb experts examined the device and carried out a controlled explosion.

Viable Pipe Bomb Found In West Belfast
A viable pipe bomb has been discovered during a security alert in west Belfast. The device was found in the Andersonstown area on Saturday night, 15 July. A number of residents had to be evacuated from their homes, however they have since returned. The device was made safe and has been retaken for further examination.

An explosive device found during a security alert in west Belfast was "designed to kill or seriously injure police officers", according to the PSNI. The alert, which has now ended, was on the Brians Well road area in Poleglass on Saturday, 14 January.
