Mivan secure $600k Dubai contract
Antrim based construction company, Mivan has won a $600,000 contract to help build what will be one of the tallest residential buildings in Dubai.
Dubai contractor Arab Technical Construction Company (Arabtec), will use Mivan’s Formwork System to construct one of the two new 51-storey Al Fattan Towers. At around 230 metres tall, each tower will be five times higher than Belfast’s Europa Hotel.
This is Mivan’s first contract in Dubai and represents a significant breakthrough for the company.
Commenting on the win, Mivan CEO Dr. Ivan McCabrey said: “The Dubai economy is booming and this has triggered a significant demand for international-quality construction capability and expertise.
“This contract represents a massive boost to Mivan’s prospects in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the neighbouring regions. We hope to use this prestige building to showcase our specialist expertise.”
The Al Fattan development is in the heart of Dubai’s prestigious Marina Development and will be completed by 2005. Dubai’s Marina Complex has been designed as a city of the future with apartment towers, hotels, shopping centres and recreational facilities.
Total cost of the Al Fattan development will be at least £85 million and each tower will have around 188 apartments.
