Powershield secure orders worth more than £1m
New orders worth over £1 million were announced today when a new £1.6 million factory for Powershield in Lisburn was opened.
The new orders, to be processed at Powershield's new 33,000 sq ft purpose built factory located in Invest Northern Ireland’s Knockmore Hill Industrial Park, include a £400,000 contract to supply doors to a new retail and office development on Cardinal Place in the centre of London; a £300,000 contract to supply doors at the US-owned Schering Plough pharmaceuticals plant in Bray, Co Wicklow; and a £500,000 contract for steel doors and grille gates to a new prison at HMP Peterborough.
Commenting on the success, Bruce Robinson, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, said: “It’s good to see a Northern Ireland company having noteworthy success both in their local and export markets. Through continued R&D programmes and training it has produced high quality innovative products, a commitment in line with the Department’s focus of transforming Northern Ireland into a world class innovation economy."
During a tour of the factory, Mr Robinson met managers and shop floor employees engaged in line manufacture of the company’s range of high performance doors and glazing systems for clean rooms, industrial and residential buildings.
