Number Of Items Found During East Belfast Security Alert

A number of items have been found during a security alert in east Belfast.

Residents had to be evacuated from their homes as police sealed off part of Grand Parade on Wednesday evening, 08 November.

Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene and removed a number objects. They have been taken away for further forensic examination.

The road has since been re-opened.

Security Alert In North Belfast Ends
A security alert in north Belfast has now ended. A number of homes were evacuated when a suspicious object was discovered in the South Crescent area on Monday, 10 September. The device was declared not viable and residents have returned to their homes. The road has also been re-opened.

Security Alert Branded As Hoax
Police have declared a security alert in North Belfast as an elaborate hoax. A controlled explosion had to be carried out on a device located on the Ballysillan Road after a telephone warning claimed that a suspect device had been attached to gates near Our Lady of Mercy Secondary school.

Pedestrian Hit By Lorry In Belfast City Centre
Police are appealing for information after a woman was struck by a lorry in Belfast city centre. The incident happened in the Wellwood Street area at around 8am on Tuesday, 21 November. The pedestrian has been taken to hospital and the area remains sealed off.

House And Car Damaged By Gang Believed To Be Armed With Sledgehammers
Police have launched an investigation after a house and car were damaged by a gang, believed to have been armed with sledgehammers, in north Belfast. The incident happened at residential premises in the Dhu Varren Parade area at around 10.30pm on Friday, 10 November. No-one was injured in the incident.
