Man Attacked During Aggravated Burglary In Co Armagh

A man has been attacked during an aggravated burglary in Silverbridge, Co Armagh.

Three masked men entered a house in the Carrive Road area at around 9.45pm on Wednesday, 26 October.

Two women and a man who were in the house were tied up.

The male was beaten with a wooden bat and sustained injuries to his legs. He is currently being treated in hospital.

The gang demanded money, however they left the scene empty handed.

Police described it as a "savage attack".

Detective Constable McCartan said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in the Carrive Road area of Silverbridge on Wednesday night and who may have noticed any suspicious activity, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, to contact detectives in Ardmore on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference 277 of 26/10/17. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Man Shot In The Leg In L'Derry
A man has been injured after being shot in the leg in Claudy, L'Derry. The victim had been picked up by several males in a car in the Letterkenny Road at around 11.40pm on Monday, 17 May. He was taken to the Heathfield Road area and was shot once in the leg, according to the PSNI.
