Northern Ireland To Play Switzerland In World Cup Play-Offs
Northern Ireland will play against Switzerland in next month's World Cup play-offs.
Micheal O'Neill's side were paired with the Swiss and will play at Windsor Park Stadium in the first leg, and away in the second.
Mr O'Neill said: O'Neill said: "Whoever we got we knew it was going to be a difficult game. Switzerland have had a great qualifying campaign, nine victories and one defeat but i think it gives us the opportunity to go to Russia.
"We have to be in the first game in Belfast but we look forward to the games and know we will have to be at our best."
The dates are to be confirmed.

Man Charged With Murder Of Cornelius O'Neill
A 33-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of Cornelius O'Neill near Kilera, in Co L’Derry. The PSNI were alerted to an incident at a property on Fallahogey Terrace at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, 29 August. Mr O’Neill, aged 56, was trounced dead at the scene. The suspect is due to appear in court on Thursday.

A parish hall in east Belfast will be transformed into a state-of-the-art childcare centre thanks to a lottery windfall announced today by the New Opportunities Fund. East Belfast based charity Oasis Caring in Action Limited has been awarded a grant of £227,991 to renovate the hall off the Castlereagh Road into an early years childcare centre.

Northern Ireland defeated the Czech Republic in a 2-0 win at Windsor Park. The result secures the team a second spot in Group C, which means they are now closer to a World Cup play off. Defender Jonny Evans scored the first goal and Chris Brunt fired in a free-kick just before the interval.

The team were defeated by Norway 1-0 on Sunday, 08 October, however Scotland failed to beat Slovenia in their fixture, ensuring NI secured their spot in the tournament. The draw will be made later this month and the games - staged over two legs - will take place in November.
