Investigation Launched Following Sudden Death In Larne

Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a man in Larne.

The man's body was discovered at around 1.30pm on Monday, 09 October, in the Hillmount Gardens area in the Seacourt estate.

A post-mortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Police are investigating claims that his throat was cut.

Sinn Féin representative Oliver McMullan said: "I knew the victim and his family personally, and they've been an integral part of the community in Larne for many years.

"I appeal to anyone with information to come forward and make it known to the PSNI."

Investigation Launched After Sudden Death Of Man In Larne
Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a man in Lane. It happened in the vicinity of the Inver River at around 7pm on Monday, 15 May, according to the PSNI. A post-mortem is to be carried out to determine the cause of death. No further details have been released.

No Motive For Larne Murder: PSNI
There is as yet no clear motive for the violent death of a Larne man at the weekend. As police yesterday began a full-scale murder inquiry into the brutal stabbing of the father-of-two, it emerged that the investigating officers did not have a motive for the killing.

Body found in Larne
One person has been arrested after the body of a man was found in Larne, Co Antrim early this morning. The body, thought to be that of a man in his 30s, was discovered at a house in Roddens Lane, shortly before 6am on Tuesday. Police are treating the man's death as suspicious, however they do not believe the death was paramilitary-related.

Following a consultation exercise the Minister has decided to close the Hearing Centres at Bangor, Larne, Limavady and Magherafelt and retain the Hearing Centre in Strabane.

Larne Lough Search Resumes
The hunt continues today - against fading hopes - after a 29-year-old man went missing in Larne Lough at the weekend. Larne's Graeme Nixon has not been seen since his boat capsized on Mill Bay on Saturday afternoon. Mr Nixon was in a rowing boat, which overturned in Mill Bay while he was picking whelks.
