Man Shot In Paramilitary Style Attack In North Belfast

A man has been shot in a paramilitary style attack in north Belfast.

The attack happened in Valsheda Court in the Ardoyne area on Monday, 02 October.

The victim, aged 30, was shot in both legs.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Sinn Féin Councillor Gerry McCabe said: "A man was shot in the legs tonight in Velsheda Court in Ardoyne.

"I condemn this shooting outright.

"There can be no place for these type of actions in our society.

"The people responsible need to end their campaign against the community.

"I would encourage anyone with information to bring it forward to the police."

SDLP North Belfast MLA Nichola Mallon said: "This attack in Ardoyne last night is a throwback to a time that people here want to leave in the past.

"There is no place for guns on our streets and there is no place for those who see fit to issue rough justice in this society.

"I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward to police as soon as possible."

Man Shot In Both Legs In L'Derry
A man in his 30s has been shot several times in the legs in Co L'Derry. The shooting attack happened in the Rinmore Drive area at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, 09 August. The victim was shot in each ankle and once in the thigh. He is currently being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Man Shot Dead At Family Home In West Belfast
A man shot dead in West Belfast on Saturday 18 December has been named as 31-year-old Mark Hall. According to police, two gunmen approached Mr Hall's family home on Rodney Drive shortly after 4:30pm.

Police Appeal After Man Shot Dead In Bangor
Police are appealing for information following the murder of Colin Horner, who was shot in front of his three-year-old son at Sainbury's car park in Bangor on Sunday, 28 May. The boy was in the car at the time of the attack. It is understood Mr Horner, originally from Co Antrim, has loyalist links.

Man Shot In North Belfast
A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident in north Belfast. Police have reported that a 20-year-old man was injured in a paramilitary-style shooting at about 01:00 on Monday morning at Havana Walk in Ardoyne. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. An investigation into the shooting is underway.
