Man Arrested After Police Car Chase In West Belfast

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a police car chase in west Belfast.

The PSNI saw a red Volkswagen driving in the Beechmount area with no lights on.

They signalled for the vehicle to stop, however a pursuit commenced onto the Falls Road where it was stung by other officers from the auto crime team.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "As a result an adult male was arrested for drink driving among other traffic offences and the vehicle is away to be crushed.

"Through quick actions this incident was brought to a swift, and safe, conclusion and resulted in a seriously dangerous driver being removed from the streets of West Belfast."

Man Arrested Over 'Death Driving' In West Belfast
A man has been arrested for a number of offences, including "Death Driving", in west Belfast. A vehicle was reported stolen following a burglary in east Belfast just after midnight. It was later reported that the vehicle was involved in what police have described as "Death Driving" in the Falls Road area.

Police question man over West Belfast attack
A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault in the Lenadoon area of West Belfast. The incident took place on January 28, and the victim was left with serious head injuries. Police have appealed for anyone who may have information on the attack, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
