£400,000 Of Cannabis Seized In Co Tyrone

A man has been arrested after £400,000 worth of cannabis was found in Co Tyrone.

Police carried out a search of a property in Coalisland on Monday, 25 September.

The man is being detained on suspicion of drugs offences and is being questioned in Dungannon.

PSNI Detective Inspector Pete Mullan said: "We are determined to identify, pursue and arrest anyone suspected of involvement in this illegal activity.

"The public expect us to take firm decisive action against such actions and we will continue to do just that."

SDLP Torrent Councillor Malachy Quinn said: "The availability of drugs is a scourge afflicting communities across the North.

"The discovery and seizure of a significant amount of cannabis in coalisland is a welcome development. Removing £400,000 worth of drugs from our streets will have an immediate effect.

"It's important now that police tackle the supply chain and arrest local drug dealers who are causing misery for people, families and communities in this area."
