Future Employability, Qualifications And Skills Shortages Survey Launched
The newly formed Mid Ulster Skills Forum has commissioned a Skills Report and Action Plan 2017-2020 for the Mid Ulster District Council area.
Mid Ulster is the most entrepreneurial region in Northern Ireland and the largest business base outside of Belfast Metropolitan Area. The area is home to many indigenous micro business, small and medium sized enterprises and global companies.
The Mid Ulster Skills Forum made up of representatives from local businesses, colleges, universities, key sectoral business organisations and Mid Ulster District Council has been established to address the skills gaps and issues faced by local businesses.
Cogent Management Consulting has been commissioned by the Forum to prepare a Skills Report and Action Plan 2017-2020 for the Mid Ulster District Council area.
The research is being undertaken to gather businesses views on the existing and future employability, qualifications and skills shortages and gaps faced by their business.
The Mid Ulster Skills Survey will take approximately ten minutes to complete and can be accessed here. Closing date for completed surveys is Thursday 28th September 2017.

Employer Skills Survey Results Published
The results of the 2015 Employer Skills Survey, managed by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES), have been published by Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry. Minister Farry launched the report at an meeting of business, education and training representatives in Belfast Metropolitan College's Titanic Quarter Campus.

Mid Ulster Council's Tendering System To Move Online
Mid Ulster District Council's tendering system is to move online from 01 April. The move means any procurement exercise worth over £30,000 will be managed electronically, with potential suppliers and contractors registering their details and completing all necessary documentation via a web-based portal.
