Ryanair Publishes Full List Of Cancelled Flights
Ryanair has published a full list of cancelled flights over the next six weeks.
The mass cancellation is due to errors over holiday rotas and could cost the firm almost £18million in compensation, according to Chief Executive Michael O'Leary.
He said: "In terms of lost profitability we think it will cost us something of the order of up to about five million euros (£4.4 million) over the next six weeks and in terms of the EU261 compensation we think that will be something up to a maximum of 20 million euros but much depends on how many of the alternative flights our customers take."
Up to 400,000 passengers could be affected.
Alliance Infrastructure spokesperson Kellie Armstrong MLA is urging people to seek guidance.
She said: "Under EU guidelines, passengers are entitled to assistance and compensation for a disruption within an airline's control, while full refunds should be offered for flights cancelled at short notice. In addition, people are entirely within their rights to claim compensation from the airline.
"I would encourage passengers who may be affected by this matter to seek advice from organisations such as the Consumer Council, who will be able to help them discover what the best option is for them."
Flights cancelled from Monday 25 September to late October are listed here.
