Businesses Invited To 'BeWise' Information Event
Businesses across Belfast are invited to attend the first-ever 'BeWise – Belfast Work Insights for Skills and Employment' information event.
Hosts of the event, Belfast City Council in partnership with Department for Economy and its Connect to Success portal, said that employers are realising the benefits of providing work placements for young people, thanks to the 'BeWise' programme.
Following a successful pilot with GLL, Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall Ltd and the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the BeWise event will take place at City Hall on Thursday, 14 September.
Those interested in attending the free breakfast event must register.
Cllr Mairéad O'Donnell, Chair of Belfast City Council's City Growth and Regeneration Committee said: "Our Belfast Agenda makes a commitment to inspiring young people and helping them to develop the skills they need to secure employment.
"I'd encourage any Belfast based business to come along to our BeWise information session to find out how they can gain access to a wider range of suitable work experience candidates, and promote their sector as an attractive future employment option, so that students will tailor their studies accordingly."
All businesses which take part in the BeWise programme will be recognised at a City Hall celebration event at the close of the 2017/18 academic year.
