Yellow Weather Warning For Heavy Rain Issued In NI

A yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued in Northern Ireland.

The warning came into effect at 11am on Friday, 25 August, and ends at 11pm.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Further showers are expected in the north later, especially north Antrim. Mainly light winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

"Although some places will miss most of the showers, some heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop during today."

Areas expected to be affected are Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, L'Derry and Tyrone.

Yellow Weather Warning Issued Across NI
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy showers and thunderstorms across Northern Ireland today. The warning has been issued from 10.30am until 8pm. The maximum temperature is 22 degrees. Travel disruption is expected in places with heavy rain showers and some flooding may also occur.

Heavy snow showers affect whole of NI
Heavy snow showers have affected many parts of Northern Ireland overnight and there is a Met Office severe weather warning in force. Snow depths ranged from one inch to six inches with many schools closing for the day because of the dangerous conditions.

Strong winds are also expected around the coast and some flooding of homes and businesses is possible. Motorists are also being warned to expect difficult driving conditions.
