Defibrillator Stolen In Newtownards

An investigation has been launched into the theft of a defibrillator from outside a shop in Newtownards.

The life-saving equipment was taken overnight from outside a Vivo store on Glenard Road.

Posting to their Facebook page, PSNI Ards, said that they would be looking at CCTV in order to identify those involved. They also appealed to residents in the area be aware that it is missing and be on the lookout in case it has been discarded.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers.

Pair Urged To Hand Themselves In After Being Caught On Top Of PSNI Vehicle
Police are calling on two individuals to hand themselves in after they climbed on top of a police vehicle. The pair were caught on CCTV camera outside Newtownards Magistrates Court standing on the roof of the PSNI vehicle. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Not only is the area covered with CCTV but their names will be listed for court.

Appeal For Information On Fatal Collision Outside Newtownards
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a fatal two-vehicle collision outside Newtownards just after midnight on Tuesday, 28th June. A man, aged in his 50s, has died after the motorbike he was riding was involved in a collision with a red Nissan car on the Portaferry Road.

Man Attacked In East Belfast
A man is being treated in hospital after being assaulted in east Belfast. The incident happened outside licensed premises in the Upper Newtownards Road area at around 1.30am on Sunday, 04 February. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Viable Pipe Bomb Discovered Outside Newtownards Homes
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a security alert in the Ardmillan Crescent area of Newtownards on the evening of Friday, 12th May. A pipe-bomb type device was discovered at the front of a property shortly before 11pm.
