Man Due In Court Following Attempted Murder In Portadown

A man is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court today, Monday 14 August, charged in connection with the attempted murder of two men in Portadown.

The men, aged in their early 20s, were attacked by a group of men at about 4.30am on Sunday 13 August on the Garvaghy Road.

Both men are believed to have sustained head injuries in the attack.

During a follow up investigation a burnt out car was found on the Drumnagoon Road, believed to be connected to the attack.

The suspect, aged in his 50s, was arrested a short time later.

Police said their investigation is ongoing.
