Police Renew Appeal For Information On Taxi Driver Attack

The PSNI have renewed an appeal for information on an attack on a taxi driver in L'Derry on Saturday 05 August.

In the incident, the taxi, a silver coloured Citroen Xsara, was travelling on Northland Road at around 11.30pm, when a man jumped onto the bonnet of the car, before smashing the driver side window with his fist. The attack was captured on the taxi's dash cam.

The taxi driver was left traumatised by the incident.

The attacker is described as being aged in his early 20s, of slim build with dark hair.

Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information which could assist with their enquiries to contact police at Strand Road on 101. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Appeal For Information On Assault Of Taxi Driver
The PSNI in Belfast have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted in the east of the city in the early hours of this morning, Sunday, 12th February. Detective Sergeant Young said: "The taxi driver picked up a man in the Heatherbell Street area shortly after 2.50am.
