UEFA Women's U19 Championship: NI Defeated By Spain
Northern Ireland were defeated 2-0 to Spain as the Europe Under-19 women's Championship started at Windsor Park in Belfast on Tuesday, 08 August.
Lucia Garcia scored a goal followed by Spanaish captain Patricia Guijarro.
A total of 4,289 spectators attended the match, according to the Irish Football Association.
Northern Ireland are set to play against Scotland on Friday, 11 August.

Northern Ireland have been defeated by Germany at Windsor Park. The current world champions beat Northern Ireland 3-1 in Belfast. Sebastian Rudy scored the first goal in the second minute. Josh Magennis headed Northern Ireland's goal in stoppage time. However, Northern Ireland remain well placed to make November's play-offs.

Jus before half time NI scored an own goal putting the Republic in the lead. Megan Campbell secured in the second goal in the 68th minute of the second half.

Northern Ireland suffered a defeat at the hands of Austria in Belfast on Sunday 18 November, when the visitors grabbed the winning goal in the last minute. A Valentino Larozo goal in the last kick of the game won the Nations League clash for the away side at Windsor Park.

A 62-year-old man has been extradited from the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland to stand trial for the murder of three RUC officers in 1982. The man, originally from the Lurgan area, was arrested in the Republic of Ireland on 21st August 2024.

Employment Rise Fastest Since 2007
Employment in Northern Ireland is rising at its fastest rate since August 2007, according to a new report released by Ulster Bank. The increase has been seen over the last three months, the report said. It showed that the private sector in Northern Ireland continues to strengthen, but at a slower rate than the UK average.
