Three arrested in Lisburn murder investigation

Three men have been arrested in connection with an ongoing murder inquiry into the death of a 21-year-old man in Lisburn City last month.

Police arrested the men in Lisburn on Thursday morning.

James McMahon was attacked by three masked men in the city late on Thursday November 20.

He suffered serious head injuries after being beaten with baseball bats during the assault.

The victim was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he later died.

Police believe loyalist paramilitaries may have been behind the attack.

Detectives returned to the scene of the attack last week to appeal for further information into the killing.
