Eight NI Firms Scoop Three Gold Stars At UK Guild Of Fine Food
Eight firms in Northern Ireland have been awarded the highest accolade of three gold stars at the UK Guild of Fine Food, with 80 local companies securing 244 gold stars for 180 products.
Jeremy Fitch, Executive Director of Business and Sector Development at Invest NI said: "Northern Ireland produce is much sought after, not only in the UK and Europe but also in countries such as China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Awards such as these provide independent validation of the taste and quality of our local food and drink.
"I would like to congratulate all of those who have been recognised by the Guild of Fine Food for their hard work and dedication. In particular the eight three star gold award winners.
"Through our extensive trade programme and inward buyer visits we are proactively helping local food and drink companies to access new markets and reach new customers.
"Combined with our expanding global network of offices and in-market advisers, we are helping local businesses secure the best value for their produce. This strategic approach will help drive the local food and drink industry, maximise commercial opportunities and achieve further growth in international markets.
The eight companies awarded three gold stars were:
• Lough Neagh Fishermen’s Co-op – Smoked eel (County Antrim)
• Tempted Irish Cider Co Ltd – Elderflower cider (County Antrim)
