Investigation Launched Into Death Of Six-Year-Old Boy In L'Derry

An investigation has been launched following the death of a six-year-old boy in Londonderry.

The boy was found with significant injuries in Tyrconnell Street shortly before 10.30am on Tuesday, 11 July. He was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

According to reports, police are investigating if the boys injuries were sustained as the result of a collision with a vehicle.

It is understood that a man was arrested in connection with the death but has since been released on bail.

Anyone who was on Tyrconnell Street on the morning of Tuesday, 11 July between 10am and 10.30am has been asked to contact police.

Police Appeal After Boy Hit By Car In Co Down
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a five-year-old boy was hit by a car in Co Down. The crash happened in the Malcolmson Park area in Magheralin just after 4.45pm on Thursday, 12 January. He is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Police Helicopter Finds Boys Lost On Black Mountain
A police helicopter has rescued two twelve-year-old boys from Black Mountain in west Belfast Police responded to a call at around 15:15 on Saturday, finding to the boys within thirty minutes. One of the rescue crew helped the pair to safety. Neither boy suffered any injuries and they were returned home by a police patrol.
