Investigation Launched Into Belfast Crystal Factory Fire

An investigation has been launched after a fire destroyed a factory in west Belfast.

Emergency services were alerted at around 6pm to reports of a major blaze at the Belfast Crystal factory in the Kennedy Way industrial estate on Saturday, 01 July.

More than 40 firefighters attended the blaze, along with seven fire appliances, one high reach aerial appliance and a specialist command support unit.

It is understood police are treating the blaze as suspicious.

Anyone with any information is asked to contract Police on 101, or via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

Two Fires At Derelict Factory In Co Tyrone Being Treated As Arson
Two fires at a derelict factory in Co Tyrone are being treat as arson. The first blaze started at Herdman's Mill in Sion Mills on Friday, 10 June, which caused substantial damage. The second fire was started on Saturday, 11 June, at around 8.30pm, and caused further damage. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

North Belfast Fire Started 'Deliberately'
A fire at an old factory site in north Belfast was started deliberately, according to the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS). Residents had to ensure their windows and doors were closed as firefighters were putting out the blaze in the Oldpark Road area on Wednesday.

Homes Evacuated In East Belfast Factory Blaze
More than 60 people have had to be evacuated from their homes in east Belfast following a fire at a derelict factory. The fire reportedly broke out after 10pm last night at the former WJ Nelson premises in Grove Street off the Beersbridge Road. The residents have since been allowed to return.

More than 100 fire fighters have dealt with a huge fire which engulfed a disused Belfast factory on Sunday. The fire broke out at the unoccupied factory on the Boucher Road late in the evening.

Woman Dies Following Fire In West Belfast
A woman who was in a critical condition in hospital after being injured in a house fire in west Belfast has died, according to the police. The accidental blaze broke out in the kitchen of an apartment at Ardnaclowney House just off Beechmount Avenue shortly before 4pm on Sunday, 05 February.
