Woman Critical After Collision In L'Derry

A woman is in a critical condition after a two car crash in L'Derry.

The collision happened on Victoria Road at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, 27 June.

The 67-year-old is believed to have been the driver of the car. A passenger in the same vehicle was also taken to hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the crash.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A man struck by a car in Donegal has died in hospital in Co L'Derry. The collision happened at Bridgend just before midnight on Saturday, 10 March. A silver Opel Omega is believed to have been travelling from the direction of L'Derry when it hit two men. A man, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at Altnaglevin Hospital.

Shots have been fired at a parked car in L'Derry. The incident occurred in Drumleck Gardens in the early hours of Thursday morning. No one is believed to have been injured. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Man Arrested Over Fatal Road Crash Released On Bail
A man arrested in connection with a fatal road crash near L'Derry has been released on bail, pending further enquiries. Two cousins, Aaron McDonald, 19, and Michael McDonald, 21, were killed in the collision on the Victoria Road between Newbuildings and Magheramason in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

New Child Car Seat Legislation Introduced
New child car seat legislation has been introduced to offer better protection for children. Child car seats approved under the new standard will offer improved safety features, including a new sizing system (i-Size), to ensure that children are using the correct car seat.
