Applications Sought For Innovate 2017
Applications are now open for Innovate 2017, which is taking place in Birmingham on 8-9 November.
Hosted by Innovate UK, Innovate 2017 is the UK's leading innovation conference, exhibition and networking event dedicated to innovative UK businesses. It features a packed two-day programme that will stimulate opportunities for innovation, export and investment for the UK's most innovative companies.
Innovate UK highlighted the benefits of the event:
• attracts over 2000 UK and international attendees every year
• provides the perfect platform to meet potential investors and/or buyers
• has an unparalleled and exciting main stage agenda with stellar speakers
• provides the opportunity to learn about global options for UK business
• gives first-hand information on government funding and support for UK businesses
• provides networking opportunities with peers, potential partners and other world class innovators
• offers the chance to learn about European funding and partnering opportunities

A new £1.2 million international cooperation feasibility studies competition has been announced by Innovate UK. Businesses across the UK aiming to create international business networks have been invited to apply for funding of up to £30,000 with Innovate UK. The funding is to enable commercial research and innovation partnerships.

Dungannon based EDGE Innovate is set for a four-year expansion programme which will create 80 new roles and around £2m annually in salaries. The machinery manufacturer invested a total of £8 million, to be focused on employment, skills development and export growth.
