Investigation Launched Following Armed Robbery In North Belfast

Police have launched an investigation following an armed robbery at a shop in north Belfast.

Two men, one armed with a knife, entered the premises on the Ardoyne Road at around 10.45pm on Sunday, 18 June.

A male worker was threatened and a quantity of cigarettes were stolen.

Members of the public intervened and the pair made off.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested and is being detained in police custody.

A quantity of stolen cigarettes were also recovered.

Cash And Cigarettes Stolen During Armed Robbery In East Belfast
Police are searching for two men following a robbery at a shop on the Albertbridge Road in east Belfast on Saturday evening. The men entered the store, climbed over the counter and stole a quantity of cigarettes and a sum of money from the till at around 10.45pm. One of the men was armed with a claw hammer.

Detectives are appealing for information following an armed robbery at the North Circular Road in Belfast early this morning. A man entered a shop in the area at around 7:30am on Friday morning and threatened staff with a knife before taking a quantity of cigarettes and a sum of cash.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man arrested after drugs find
Police seized a large quantity of Class A drugs, following a planned search at a premises in south Belfast yesterday. An amount of suspected Ecstasy and cocaine, with an estimated street value of £120,000, was recovered during the raid. A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged with possession of Class A drugs, with intent to supply.

Lorry driver assaulted during north Belfast hijacking
A lorry driver was threatened at gunpoint and assaulted yesterday when a large quantity of cigarettes was stolen during a hi-jacking in north Belfast. The 26-year-old man had completed a delivery to a 'Spar' supermarket on the Antrim Road around 1.30pm when he was confronted by an armed hijacker.
