Platform At Train Station In Belfast Vandalised

NI Railways were forced to close one of its platforms following an overnight burglary.

Windows were smashed and damage was caused to doors at Yorkgate train station in Belfast.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Shortly before 5.45am today (Thursday, 25 May). it was reported that the station had been accessed overnight and ransacked with windows smashed and doors damaged."

The platform has now re-opened, however the ticket desk remains closed.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Nine Men Arrested Over Attack On House In Antrim
Nine men have been arrested following an attack at a house in County Antrim. Around 20 men with hammers and bats smashed windows and a door at a property in the Newpark estate at around 20.10 on Thursday, according to the PSNI. Nine men were later arrested in connection with the attack.

Girl Sexually Assaulted At Train Station
A teenage girl was the victim of a serious sexual assault at a railway station last week. The girl was attacked at the Whiteabbey train halt at around 4.15pm last Thursday. She was approached by a man on the Larne-bound platform of the track.

Woman in hospital after slipping under train
NI transport firm, Translink have launched an investigation into an accident which left a woman hospitalised yesterday. The woman was taken to hospital after becoming wedged between a stationary train and a platform at Bangor station on Wednesday.

Windows Smashed And Paint Bombs Thrown At Belfast Home
Police are investigating a pipe bomb attack on a home in south Belfast. The incident took place in Clementine Drive, sometime between 11 and 11.50pm on Thursday 29 November. Two windows were smashed before a paint bomb was thrown inside the property. A further paint bomb was thrown at the back of the house.

Windows Smashed During 'Hate Crime' In Newry
Windows have been smashed at a home of a Syrian family which police are describing as a "hate crime". The attack occurred at Carlingford Park in Newry during the early hours of Sunday, 18 April. Graffiti was also sprayed on the property.
