Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge Closed For 'Forseeable Future'

Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge in Ballycastle has been closed for the "foreseeable future" following an overnight vandalism incident.

During a routine safety check it was identified that the bridge was damaged.

In a statement National Trust NI said: "Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge will be closed today & for the foreseeable future due to an act of vandalism overnight. We are working with structural engineers to assess the level of damage as safety of visitors & staff is of utmost importance."

Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge in Co Antrim is to reopen on Thursday, 25 May. The bridge was closed after vandals attempted to cut through its ropes. East Belfast Church suffers substantial damage by vandals
Vandals have attacked a church in east Belfast, causing substantial damage to stained glass windows. The incident happened at the Albert Bridge Congregational Church on the Woodstock Link, however, the attack is not thought to have had a sectarian motive.
