Increased Police Presence In NI Following Manchester Attack
There will be an increased police presence in Northern Ireland following the terror attack in Manchester, PSNI Chief Constable George Hamilton has confirmed.
However, he said that the military deployment announced by Prime Minister Theresa May as part of Operation Temperer "will not apply" in NI.
The terrorist attack at Manchester Arena claimed the lives of 22 people, including children, and injured over 100.
Mr Hamilton said: "It has been well documented that the current threat level from violent dissident republicans across Northern Ireland is 'severe'. This remains the case.
"Events in Manchester are at the forefronts of all our minds. We send our thoughts and our sympathy to those who have lost loved ones and to the injured. We also send our support to the people of Manchester and to the police officers and staff at Greater Manchester Police.
"The PSNI will continue to do all we can operationally to keep people safe , however, I would ask the public, as always, to remain vigilant and alert to any suspicious activity and report anything untoward to police."

PSNI issue crime prevention appeal to NI fans
Police have warned thousands of Northern Ireland supporters travelling to Saturday’s game against England in Manchester to take extra caution with regard to crime prevention. Officers said that by securing all valuables, such as wallets, credit cards, keys and match tickets, fans can ensure they do not become a victim of theft.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Johnny Adair freed from jail
Former loyalist leader Johnny Adair has been released from prison and flown to England. Mr Adair was taken to RAF Aldergrove on Monday and flown by helicopter to Manchester despite not being due for release until Thursday.
