Two Men Arrested Over Ronan Kerr Murder Released

Two men, who were arrested in connection with the murder of PSNI Constable Ronan Kerr, have been released unconditionally.

Constable Kerr was killed by a booby-trap car bomb in Omagh in April 2011.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in Omagh and a 40-year-old male was brought into police custody from prison.

They were questioned under the Terrorism Act, however they were released on Wednesday.

Ronan Kerr Murder: Man Released
A 39-year-old man who was arrested in County Tyrone over the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr has been released. The man, from the Omagh area, was arrested under the Terrorism Act. He was released unconditionally on Tuesday evening. The arrest followed searches in County Tyrone and Cumbria in England. The man was taken to Antrim police station.

A 37-year-old man has been jailed for six months for escaping from prison. Shane Frane, who is currently serving an indeterminate sentence for the manslaughter of Constable Philippa Reynolds on 09 February 2013.
