Man Charged After £35,000 Cash Seized In Lisburn

A man has been charged after £35,000 cash was found in a car in Lisburn.

Police seized the money in the Sprucefield area on Tuesday, 16 May.

The PSNI also recovered £40,000 worth of cannabis during a follow-up search at a house in Belfast.

The 29-year-old, who is to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday, 18 May, has also been charged with a number of offences including possession of criminal property and drugs offences.

A 30-year-old woman who was also arrested has been released pending further enquiries.

Elderly Man Accused Of Raping Minor
A 67-year-old man is to appear in court today, charged with raping and indecently assaulting a minor. The man was detained by police yesterday. It is believed the alleged offences took place in east Belfast between 2005 and 2006. The man is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court this morning, police said.

Arrest Over Hijacking & Common Assault
Police investigating a series of incidents in County Antrim and Down on Saturday 01 June have arrested a 31-year-old man. It follows a number of disturbances in the Newcastle, Lisburn, Carryduff and west Belfast areas. The man was detained on suspicion of hijacking and common assault. He remains in police custody this morning, Wednesday 05 June.

Man Charged With Terrorism Offences After Weapons Seized In Tyrone
A man has been charged with terrorism offences after weapons were seized in Co Tyrone. Police found weapons and ammunition at a garage unit in the Mountjoy Road area of Coalisland in 2011, as part of an investigation into the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr. The 34-year-old is due to appear in court in Dungannon today, 20 June.

Appeal Issued For Missing Lisburn Man Thomas McKeown
The PSNI in Lisburn have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of Thomas McKeown. The 52-year-old was last seen at around 11.12am in the centre of Lisburn on Tuesday 11 June. Police said that Thomas is a "vulnerable adult" and they are keen to trace his current whereabouts.
