Pensioner Left 'Badly Shaken' Attempted Mugging

A pensioner has been left badly shaken after an attempted mugging in east Belfast.

The incident happened on the Kings Road just before 1pm on Monday, 24 April.

The man made off empty handed after the woman refused to let go of her bag.

She suffered a bruised arm.

The man is described as around 5ft 10inches and of slim build.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A man has been shot in the leg in a paramilitary style attack on the outskirts of Belfast. The shooting occurred in an alleyway close to Ballyduff Brae in Newtownabbey on Monday night. Two women have been injured in two separate robberies in Co Antrim and Co Londonderry. In Belfast a woman was treated in hospital last night after being stabbed outside a supermarket in north Belfast. The woman was the victim of an attempted mugging outside a Tesco shopping centre on the Ballygomartin Road at around lunchtime.

Man Stabbed And Woman Punched In South Belfast Mugging
A man has been stabbed and a woman punched in an attempted mugging in south Belfast. The incident happened in the Ormeau Road area in the early hours of Wednesday 31 October. Police revealed that the couple were approached by women wearing dark clothing and demanded money and cigarettes, but had neither to give them.

Mugging 'Deeply Disturbs' Community
A woman has been struck across the face with a gun, during a mugging in Ballyhackamore in east Belfast. She was assaulted by a man in his 20s on Dundela Avenue, shortly after 7pm on Tuesday. Police are appealing for information after he stole her jewellery before making off towards the Clonlee Drive area on foot, leaving the victim badly shaken.
