Three Ulster Rugby Players Named In British & Irish Lions Squad

Three Ulster Rugby players have been named in the British & Irish Lions squad.

Rory Best, Iain Henderson and Jared Payne have been included in the squad who are to tour New Zealand this summer.

The trio are among 11 Ireland players selected by Lions Head Coach Warren Gatland.

Jack McGrath, Tadhg Furlong, CJ Stander, Sean O'Brien, Peter O'Mahony, Conor Murray, Jonathan Sexton and Robbie Henshaw have also been selected in the 41-man touring party.

Police have arrested five men in connection with a dangerous incident in Kilrea on the afternoon of Wednesday, 27 November. Officers were called to reports of a disturbance at a shop on Mill Road, where a vehicle was used to ram the building. A woman was also assaulted during the incident.

Three Arrested in L'Derry For Drug Offences
Police in L'Derry have arrested three people and seized drugs worth an estimated £600. The arrests were made following a proactive policing operation in the city. On Monday, 18 November, officers observed suspicious behaviour from a 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman in the Strand Road area.

Welfare Mitigation Payments Extended
Welfare mitigation payments, which were due to end in March 2025, will now continue for an additional three years. The decision was announced by Communities Minister Gordon Lyons following a meeting of the Executive.
