Appeal Launched For Missing Teen From West Belfast

Police have launched an appeal to help trace a missing 16-year-old girl from west Belfast.

Leonie Hopkins was last seen on Sunday, 02 April.

She is 5ft 4inches in height, of slim build with long brown hair and blue eyes.

Chief Inspector Kellie McMillan said: "We are primarily concerned for Leonie's safety and wellbeing and would ask her to get in touch with police as soon as possible to let us know she is ok.

"Leonie herself – or anyone who has information about her – should get in touch with police at Woodbourne on the non-emergency police number 101."

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police appeal over missing teenager
Police in County Armagh have appealed for information following the disappearance of teenager in the area. 16-year-old Leonie Gillen went missing from her home in Drumbeg in Craigavon in the early hours of Thursday morning, and has not been seen since. She is described as around 5' 8" in height, slim to medium build, with dark eyes and long hair.

Police have launched an investigation after reports of a shot being fired in north Belfast. No-one is believed to have been injured in the incident in the Farringdon Court area on Thursday. Police are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a derelict building in north Belfast. The incident happened in the Salisbury Avenue area on the Antrim Road just after 4.30pm on Monday, 04 July. The adjoining premises had to be evacuated and police said they are treating the incident as arson with intent to endanger life.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.
