Couple Attacked And Tied Up During Burglary In Co Antrim

A man and his wife have been attacked and tied up by three masked men during an armed burglary in Ballymoney, Co Antrim.

The incident happened at a house in the Donaghbrook Drive area at around 9.40pm on Monday, 10 April.

The man, aged in his 70s, was hit on the head before they tied the couple to chairs and made off from the scene with a substantial amount of money in an unknown vehicle.

The woman managed to break free and made her way to a neighbours house.

PSNI Detective Constable Brennan said there were also reports of shots being fired in the Ballybrakes area.

He said: "The injured man needed hospital treatment, but has since been discharged.

"Detectives are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area to contact them at Coleraine Police Station on the 101 number.

"Information can also be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Police And Family Appeal Over Missing Man
Police and the family of a missing man have said they are becoming increasingly worried for his safety. Gary McGrath-Hayes from County Antrim was last seen at home in the Ballybogey area near Ballymoney on Thursday morning at around 07:30. 42-year-old Mr McGrath-Hayes left home in his car, a black Honda Accord, vehicle registration number HEZ 7411.

Second Man Arrested Over Gerard 'Jock' Davison Killing
A 27-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of Gerard 'Jock' Davison. The former IRA commander was shot several times in the Markets area on Tuesday morning. A 41-year-old man arrested on Wednesday has been released unconditionally.

Man Attacked During Aggravated Burglary In Co Armagh
A man has been attacked during an aggravated burglary in Silverbridge, Co Armagh. Three masked men entered a house in the Carrive Road area at around 9.45pm on Wednesday, 26 October. Two women and a man who were in the house were tied up. The male was beaten with a wooden bat and sustained injuries to his legs.
