Tax-Free Childcare To Be Introduced On 28 April
Tax-free childcare is to be introduced on 28 April, 2017, before being rolled out across the UK throughout 2017.
Under the new scheme eligible working families will be able to claim 20% of their childcare costs, up to £2,000 per child per year or £4,000 for a child with a disability.
Parents will then be able to arrange for electronic payments to be sent directly to their childcare providers.
Ahead of the introduction, the government has launched a website, explaining the new scheme, who is eligible and how to claim - Childcare Choices.
New information is also available for registered childcare providers.
Registered providers - whether childminders, nurseries or after school clubs - can sign up online now to receive parents' payments through Tax-Free Childcare.
Once signed up, providers will appear on the Childcare Provider Checker, which allows parents to check whether childcare providers have already signed up for Tax-Free Childcare.
