Six men charged with UDA membership
Six men have appeared in court today charged with membership of an illegal loyalist paramilitary organisation.
The men, John Millar, Mark Gourley, Thomas McCrea, Thompson Gilmore, George Gilmore and Glen Murray, all from Carrickfergus, appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday to face the charges in connection with membership of the Ulster Defence Association (UDA).
Two of the men, George Gilmore and Thompson Gilmore, were further charged with making demands with menaces, threats with force as well as membership of the UDA.
Glen Murray was also charged with having an explosive substance.
All six men remanded in custody to appear by video link on 19 December.

Two Men Arrested Over George Gilmore Murder Released
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of George Gilmore have been released unconditionally. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The two suspects were detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 29 March.

Officer injured in hammer assault
A police officer has been injured after being struck with a hammer in Co Armagh at the weekend. The incident occurred after officers were called to the Thomas Street area of Portadown on Sunday after a Portuguese man reported damage to his car. When officers arrived they saw a man being assaulted in a separate incident nearby.

Appeal For Information On Aggravated Burglary In Cookstown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at the Queens Avenue area of Cookstown on Friday 3rd February. Shortly after 10pm, it was reported that four masked men entered a property in the area with one of the men armed with an iron bar and another man armed with a suspected firearm.

Two Men Attacked With Baseball Bats In Co Antrim
Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.

He died from his injuries in hospital the following day. The 32-year-old suspect is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday, 29 September.
