Additional Time Given To Question Suspect Over Bomb Attack

The PSNI have been given additional time to question a man arrested in connection with a bomb attack on police in Strabane, Co Tyrone.

The 20-year-old suspect was detained in Newtownstewart on Friday, 24 March, as part of an investigation into the attempted murder of officers on Tuesday, 21 March.

A device exploded in the Townsend street area and the officers were "extremely lucky to escape injury", according to the PSNI.

A 31-year-old was also arrested in Tyrone on Saturday, 25 March.

Man Detained After Injuring Two PSNI Officers During Arrest
Two PSNI officers have been injured as they transported a man to custody. The man, aged in his 40s, had been arrested in connection with a domestic incident in the Ennislare Road area at around 2.45am on Saturday 15 April. As officers transferred the man to custody, he became agitated and aggressive.
