Lisburn man dies following vicious beating

A man who was left with serious head injuries following a vicious attack in Lisburn last night has died in hospital.

James McMahon, 21, was attacked by three masked men in Lisburn at around 10.30pm on Thursday.

The victim suffered serious head injuries after being beaten with baseball bats during the assault at Hancock Street in the city centre.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Elsewhere, guns and ammunition were found by police during a search in Lurgan last night.

The discovery was made on wasteland at the back of Queens Street in the town. Further searches were carried out on Friday.

Man Injured In Collision In Lisnaskea
A man is believed to be suffering serious head injuries following a one vehicle crash near Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh. The collision occurred before 9am on Monday close to a quarry on the Dernawilt Road. The man was taken to South West Acute Hospital. The road has been closed and diversions are in place.

Man Due In Court Following Attempted Murder In Portadown
A man is due to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court today, Monday 14 August, charged in connection with the attempted murder of two men in Portadown. The men, aged in their early 20s, were attacked by a group of men at about 4.30am on Sunday 13 August on the Garvaghy Road. Both men are believed to have sustained head injuries in the attack.

Man suffers head injuries in Lisburn attack
Detectives in Lisburn are appealing for information following an attack in the city on Sunday evening. A 37-year-old man was attacked at about 8:30pm with a plank of wood or a bat in the Sloan Ctreet/Old Warren area. He was taken to hospital in Belfast with serious head injuries. However these are not thought to be life threatening.

Teens Held As West Belfast Death Probed
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in west Belfast. He was Seamus Fox, a 58-year-old who lived at Horn Drive, off the Suffolk Road. Two 18-year-olds have been arrested in connection with the shock killing which police said was the result of a "very brutal attack".
