Six Men Arrested Following 'Serious Assault' In County Antrim

Police have arrested six men in connection with a "serious assault" at a bar in County Antrim.

According to reports, police were called after a group of men entered McConnell's Bar on Main Street, Doagh, at around 6pm and attacked a man with hammers and baseball bats on Wednesday, 15 March.

The man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries, but his condition is not said to be life-threatening.

Police have said that they are investigating if the attack is connected to an ongoing loyalist feud, which has so far led to the death of George Gilmore, who died following a shooting in Carrickfergus on Monday.

Six men, aged between 24 and 38, have been arrested in connection with the Doagh incident and remain in custody.

Police have issued an appeal for information about the incident.
