Drop In Number Of People Claiming Unemployment Benefits
The number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland has dropped.
The total now stands at 31,600, a fall of 300 in February, according to the latest figures.
Employee jobs also increased over the quarter to December 2016 by 0.2%.
Manufacturing output also rose in the last quarter of 2016, a rise of 4.3% on the previous three months.

The number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland has dropped, according to the latest labour market figures. The data revealed the unemployment rate between July and September this year was 5.6%, a decrease of 0.4% over the quarter and 0.3% over the year.

Drop In Number Of People Claiming Unemployment Benefits
The number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland dropped by 1,000 in August. According to the latest Labour Force Survey (LFS) the measure of unemployment showed a slight increase over the quarter in July, however it fell over the year. The long term unemployment rate was 58.0%, an increase of 6.1% on the previous year.

Northern Ireland was the only area of the UK to experience an increase in house purchase loans in the final quarter of 2011, according to new figures released today from the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) in Northern Ireland. The 2,500 house purchase loans, worth £240 million, increased 4% by number and value from the third quarter of the year.
