Suspect device put through community worker's letter box
A number of houses had to be evacuated in north Belfast today after a suspect device was put through the letter box of a local community worker.
Eddie McClean's home in Castleton Avenue, off the Shore Road, was the target for the device which was discovered by his wife as she left her home on Thursday morning.
It is believed the device had nails attached to it.
Army technical experts were immediately called to the area to deal with the bomb.
It is not known who was responsible for the device however dissident republicans left a similar device outside the nearby York Road police station last month.

Hoax device left at home of SDLP member
Army Technical Officers carried out a controlled explosion at the home of Londonderry SDLP member, Pat Ramsey, last night. It is understood that Mr Ramsey's wife discovered a suspicious device in the garden of their home in Meenan Drive, in the Bogside area of the city at around 10.30pm.

Viable Device Found In Newry Had Detonated
A device found in Newry on Thursday had exploded, according to police. The device was discovered on the Barracric Road and a railway line between Newry and Dundalk was forced to close. It has since been re-opened. No damage was caused and there were no reports of any injuries. The device has been taken away by the police for further examination.

Search Continues For Explosive Device In L'Derry
Police are continuing to carry out searches in L'Derry after being informed that a suspicious device has been left in the city. The search, on the Madam's Bank Road, is resuming after being told an explosive device had been abandoned in the area. Residents and motorists are being urged to be vigilant.
