Motorist escapes injury as roof ripped off car
The Frosses Road in Co Antrim was closed for a time today as police investigated an incident that resulted in the roof of a car being ripped off by steel girders.
The driver of the car escaped serious injury when the steel girders slipped from the back of an approaching lorry and stuck the man's vehicle.
While the motorist was able to walk away from the wreck, the car's roof and door pillars were torn away by the impact.
It is understood that trees adjacent to the road were also severely damaged by the heavy girders.
Police are investigating the incident which occurred this morning on a notorious section of the A26 Ballymena to Coleraine road.

Car On Its Roof Following Collision In South Belfast
A car ended up on its roof following a two-vehicle collision in south Belfast. The incident occurred on the Lisburn Road on Tuesday evening, 28 June. No-one is believed to have been injured in the crash, according to the PSNI. The road was closed however it has since re-opened.
