Thousands Without Power As Storm Doris Hits NI
Around 8,000 homes and businesses are without power in Northern Ireland as Storm Doris hits the UK.
NIE Networks said the figure will most likely rise throughout Thursday morning, 23 February, as strong winds and heavy rain will continue to cause disruption.
Trees and branches falling onto overhead electricity lines are the main cause of the damage.
The firm confirmed they will start repairing the network "as soon as it is safe to do so".
Customers can call the helpline on 03457 643 643 to report any faults.
Sara McClintock, NIE Networks' Communications, said: "We are already in position to get customers back on supply as quickly as humanly possible consistent with safety, and to keep customers regularly updated and informed. Our local incident centres have been open from early morning and additional repair teams are being drafted into the areas where they are most needed."
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning until 2pm on Thursday.
A further warning for wind has been put in place until 8pm.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Later on Thursday morning, gale force winds are expected as the system clears to the east. Please be aware of the potential for some travel disruption, localised flooding and surface spray."
