Revitalise Business Events Announced

Belfast City Council (BCC) has announced two free business events offering help and advice for local entrepreneurs.

BCC and the Competition and Market Authority (CMA) will host 'Revitalise: Making Banks Work Harder For Small Business Customers' – a one-hour information session which will cover how the CMA's changes will improve services for SMEs, including:

• easy account switching to encourage more businesses to compare, search and switch accounts. Only 4 per cent of business customers switch to a different bank in any year and by switching provider, they could save an average of £80

• technological innovations and new money management tools that will help small businesses take control of their data and see how much they could save by switching to another bank

• provision of comparative service quality information.

• how banks will have to prompt customers to check they are getting a good deal, at pressure points such as the closure of a local branch, or when the bank is planning increases in its charges

The second event, 'Revitalise: Helping You Legally Take Your Business Online', will provide information on selling goods online as part of business improvement and good customer care and the legal requirements surrounding.

The event will also aim to improve understanding of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Belfast City Council's consumer advice service will provide free specialist advice on the areas of:

• the Consumer Rights Act 2015

• selling online

Both events will take place on 07 March at the Reception Hall at Belfast City Hall.
