Public Urged To Report Crime To Police

Alliance candidate for Upper Bann Tara Doyle has urged members of the public to report suspicious activity or crime to the police.

Tara Doyle said: "In recent years public support for the PSNI has grown right across Northern Ireland. That support includes passing information to the police about crime or suspicious activity.

"On Saturday, a tip off from a member of the public assisted the police to apprehend a man in Portadown, who is now facing a number of charges. Without that tip off, who knows what crimes would have gone undetected. Public vigilance can help reduce crime and lead to criminals ending up in court.

"I would encourage any member of the public who has information, or suspicions, about crime to call the PSNI on the 101 number, or 999 if an emergency. Anonymous calls can also be made to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."
