On-Street Parking Charges To Increase

On-street parking in Belfast, Newry and Lisburn is to increase from February.

Charges in Belfast City Centre will increase by 20p per hour from £1.20 to £1.40, while a number of streets on the edge of the city centre with a current charge of 80p per hour will increase to £1.20 per hour.

Charges in Newry will increase from 40p to 60p per hour and in Lisburn, from 60p to 80p per hour.

Dept For Infrastructure Increases On-Street Parking Charges
The Department for Infrastructure has announced that on-street parking tariffs are to increase in Belfast, Newry and Lisburn from 01 April, 2023. The on-street parking tariffs in the Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs) in Belfast, Lisburn and Newry were last increased in February 2017.

Pay Increase For Thousands Of NI Workers
The National Living Wage (NLW) which takes effect from today, 01 April, will see tens of thousands of workers in Northern Ireland receive a pay increase. All workers aged 25 and over are now legally entitled to at least £7.20 per hour, a rise from £6.70.

New Bus Lanes Cause Rush Hour Delays
New bus lanes in Belfast city centre caused rush hour delays for commuters in cars on Monday morning, when they were put into operation for the first time. They are on May Street, Donegall Square South and Howard Street, and operate between 07:00 until 19:00 , Monday to Saturday.

Western Trust Hospitals Change Visitor Arrangements
The Western Trust has announced a change to its visitor arrangements, bringing it in to line with Department of Health guidance. All Western Trust hospital sites are now operating a '1-1-1' system, which allows for one visitor per patient for one hour, once a day.
