Woman Attacked In West Belfast

Police are appealing for information after a woman was attacked in west Belfast.

A number of men armed with batons forced their way into a house in the Laurelbank area of Poleglass just after 7.30pm on Wednesday, 18 January, and assaulted the victim.

The men smashed the windows of the property and two cars that were parked outside.

They then made off from the scene.

The woman was left badly shaken, however she was not seriously injured.

While officers were carrying out follow-up enquiries, a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of an offensive weapon after a fight broke out between two men.

He has been released on police bail.

The PSNI are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police are appealing for information after two women were attacked and covered in tar in their west Belfast home at the weekend. Three hooded men smashed the front windows of a house in Hopewell Crescent in the Shankill area at about 6.50pm on Sunday before entering the property and throwing a tar-like substance over the two women.

Man And Woman Attacked In Ballymena
A man and woman are being treated in hospital after being assaulted by masked men in County Antrim. A group of masked men forced their way into a house on the Ballybogey Road in Ballymena in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being questioned by the police.

Six Arrested In Dissident Investigation
Six people have been arrested by detectives investigating dissident republican activity. The arrests were made on Tuesday in the Dunmurry and west Belfast area following a number of searches. Police said five men, aged between 31 and 58, and a 32-year-old woman had been arrested.

Family attacked with broken bottle
Detectives in Castlereagh are appealing for information following an attack on a family outside Carryduff. A family-of-four had been travelling by car on the Hillsborough Road when two men assaulted them at around 9:00pm on Tuesday. The mother was struck in the face with a broken bottle while the grandfather was struck in the back of the head.
