Security Alert Launched In Co Tyrone

The PSNI have launched a security alert in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

A suspicious object was discovered in the Fairmount Park area on Wednesday, 17 January.

The road has been closed and a number of residents have been evacuated from their homes.

No further information has been released.

A number of residents have been evacuated from their homes in the Moygashel area of Co Tyrone following a security alert. On Twitter, the PSNI said: "Police are currently dealing with a security alert in the Moygashel area. "No roads are currently affected but some residents have been evacuated from their homes as a result of this.

Viable Device Found During Security Alert In Co Tyrone
A viable device has been discovered during a security alert in Co Tyrone. Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene in the Fairmount Park area in Dungannon at around 11am on Wednesday, 18 January. The device has been taken away for further forensic examination.

Suspicious Object Sparks Security Alert In Co Tyrone
A suspicious item thrown into a car has sparked a security alert in Co Tyrone. The object in the vehicle was reported at Innisfree Gardens in Strabane approximately 8.15am on Wednesday. A number of homes have been evacuated while army bomb disposal experts attend the scene.

Security Alert Ends In Co Tyrone
A suspicious object discovered in Strabane, Co Tyrone, has been found to be "nothing untoward". The object was found in the Evish Road area this morning, 27 May. Police attended the scene and the road has since been re-opened. Sinn Féin MLA Michaela Boyle condemned the incident and said it brought nothing but disruption to the town.

Security Alerts Underway In Tyrone And L'Derry
Two security alerts are underway in Co Tyrone and Co L'Derry. In Co Tyrone the Urney Road has been closed between Bells Road and Bellspark Road. Police are urging the public not to touch any suspicious objects in the area and diversions have been put in place.
