Brother And Sister 'Critical' After Being Hit By Car In Co Antrim

A brother and sister are in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Co Antrim.

The incident happened on the Staffordstown Road area near Randalstown at around 4.40pm on Tuesday, 17 January.

Sinn Féin MLA Declan Kearney said: "I am deeply shocked to learn that two young people, a brother and sister, have been knocked down and seriously injured as they alighted from their school bus.

"These children come from a large and very well respected local family. My thoughts, and that of the wider community in Creggan, and neighbouring areas, are with their parents, and other family members at this time.

"We are all hoping and praying for their well being."

Alliance MLA David Ford said: "This accident is very distressing for the family and the many other people affected, including the emergency services and the drivers. I would offer my thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery for the children."
