Man Attacked During House Raid In Co Antrim

A man has been attacked after a house was raided in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.

A gang of men armed with guns entered a property in the Oakfield Drive area just after 8pm on Saturday, 14 January.

A woman and four children who were in the house at the time were not injured.

The gang demanded money, attacked a man and made off with a sum of cash.

Alliance East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson said: "This was a particularly vicious assault, coming as it did in front of a family.

"Those behind it must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. They must be taken off the streets immediately, as they pose a serious danger to all.

"I urge anyone with information on this incident to pass it to police immediately."
